I had to create my own meal due to the menu being set without any substitutions allowed. I had the catfish appetizer, a side of Mac and cheese ($10), a side of greens ($10), and one glass of coke. Tip inclusive $55+. The food came out hot and well seasoned. The greens were a a smidgen too vinegary, but otherwise good. The mac and cheese were also good. The waiter gave me time to relax and enjoy the meal. I'd give it another try.

This was a beautiful restaurant and I really enjoyed my time staying there. I came on a night that I had live music which was lovely and really reminded me of being at home. The food was spectacular and true to southern roots. The service was on point and even as a single diner I felt well taken care of. Would Definitely return.

The waitress was the best part of my visit. She gave recommendations and listened when something wasn't right. I ordered the chicken dinner. It was ok. My friend ordered the catfish and she liked it. The devil eggs were not your home cooked devil eggs. The peach cobbler was disgusting. It wasn't even a real crust. The banana pudding was decent.

Georgia Brown’s delivers a soulful, satisfying dining experience that stands out in DC’s upscale Southern food scene. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional — warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without being overbearing. The food was the real highlight. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The flavors were rich and balanced, and the presentation showed real care. Standouts included the Gumbo, Catfish finger, and the fried green tomatoes — both classic Southern staples, elevated with finesse. Prices are on the higher side, but you get what you pay for: expertly executed dishes and a level of attention that reflects pride in the kitchen and on the floor. It’s a refined take on comfort food, and it delivers. Whether you’re a local or visiting, Georgia Brown’s is well worth the stop if you’re looking for Southern cuisine done with heart and precision.

Still love this restaurant, been coming here for years, everytime I visit DC. This Southern soul food restaurant is both elegant and charming. It has changed through the years but mostly to reduce costs which I can understand. We had fried chicken here both in an entree as well as a salad. Dessert was chocolate pecan pie and banana pudding.

The ambiance was absolutely spectacular, setting the perfect mood for an enjoyable dining experience. The décor was elegant and thoughtfully designed, blending modern touches with a cozy atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The food was seasoned to perfection, with each dish delivering bold, well-balanced flavors that truly delighted the palate. While the quantities were slightly smaller than expected, the quality and taste more than compensated for it. Our server (Daniel) provided immaculate service—attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly—making sure all our needs were met promptly. Overall, it was a memorable experience that combined excellent cuisine, beautiful surroundings, and top-notch hospitality. I look forward to returning and trying more from their menu.

We walked in & received a warm welcome from the host. We made the host aware of our reservations & were seated promptly. A few moments later, our Server, José came with waters to greet us & ask if we had questions about the menu. José took our drink & app orders, then whisked away quickly to put them in. Before he could come back with the drinks, the appetizers were coming out! THAT. IS. BEYOND. IMPRESSIVE. It was VERY busy & we were made to feel like we were the only people there! It was our anniversary yesterday. The restaurant furnished complimentary champagne to mark our celebration. To top that, the restaurant had the talented jazz musician (I wished I knew his name) serenade us with a song in honor of our anniversary to make the night even more special! Thank You for all you do at this wonderful establishment to build lasting memories for your patrons! We’ll be back!

We went on New Year’s Eve so I’m trying to give some slack since it’s a busy day but there was some definite flaws. The fried tomato is good but they only serve you two fried tomatoes cut in half. The biscuits are good but the spreads they bring with it are tiny and not enough. The drinks took a long time to come out but again I know it was New Year’s Eve. I did like the shrimp and mac and cheese with the spinach. The fried chicken with collard greens and mashed potatoes were decent too. Overall not bad but they could tweak a few things to be great.
